Hiya! For the Florida Computer Science Standards, I selected grades 9-12 and Body of Knowledge: Computer Science - Personal, Community, Global, and Ethical Impact, Standard 3: Evaluation of digital information resources. At this point in my education, I do feel that I'm prepared to implement this in a classroom setting. I think I'm ready to do this because it's getting easier and easier in this day and age to recognize scholarly and relevant articles, books, or websites than ones that are 'fake news', for lack of better term. I think that recognizing valid sources online is getting easier because now there are websites like Google Scholar, or online libraries, that are open to the public. We're past the point of relying on Wikipedia or other multi-source websites for our information. Journal Entry #7

 For this assignment, I took to my own  alma mater ! I looked at my choir's website, since I was heavily involved in choir. On this website, you're able to see the Chorus Handbook and the schedule for rehearsals, concerts, and assessments. The Seminole County School Board has their own website with a login and I would imagine that having a parental/student/teacher login for that would amass a lot more information regarding contact information or scheduling for the different choirs across the county, rather than just Winter Springs High. Aside from chorus, there's also the athletics webpages of the site. There, you are able to find the students on each team as well as their schedule. As a future educator, I think that using social media, email, and projectors will end up being a big part of my teaching methods. Journal Entry #8

 The web design assignment was kind of difficult for me, but I think that's mostly because I'm a little impatient when it comes to myself. :) I learned a lot about formatting and different ways to edit pictures. I'm not sure if this is just an issue that I was having, but when I tried to click between the pages on the header, I would sometimes have to change the URL to go back to my home page to switch to a different page, or hit the back button to go back to the previous webpage, so that was another frustration for me. Working around Wix and changing the formatting of preset webpages and creating my own pages was an interesting experience, and I learned a lot about my own creativity when it comes to that! I liked this assignment because it forced me to sit down and work on something outside of my comfort zone, but I didn't like it for the same reason, haha. I think having a website like that in the future would be beneficial for keeping parents and students up to date ...
